Museum of Illusions Zadar

At Zadar’s Museum of Illusions, nothing is quite as it seems. Here, reality transforms into illusion, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

The Museum of Illusions Zadar is located on the Moro Bastion, in a building constructed in 1891 by the Zadar family Salghetti-Drioli, renowned for their production of Maraschino liqueur. The building originally served as a residential and commercial property.

Inside, you’ll defy gravity in the Tilted Room, while the Mirror Room makes you shrink or grow. Holograms, optical illusions, a kaleidoscope, hollow faces, a clone table, and other mind-bending exhibits are all part of this deceptive world. Even climbing on the ceiling is part of the museum’s attractions! The Museum of Illusions also features a smart play area, packed with brain teasers, puzzles, impossible knots, tricks, and mathematical games.

The museum’s goal is to entertain, educate, and inspire visitors. It offers a deeper understanding of the complexities of human perception through optical illusions, the science of light, and the power of the human mind, all within a playful and interactive environment.

The Global Phenomenon

The concept for the Museum of Illusions was originally launched by its founders and current shareholders, Roko Živković and Tomislav Pamuković, in Zagreb in 2015. Their primary objective was to introduce an edutainment concept, offering visitors a perfect blend of learning and fun through various interactive and photogenic exhibits and illusion rooms. The museum has since rapidly expanded and now operates in over 40 locations worldwide, including New York, Atlanta, Dubai, Paris, Madrid, Istanbul, and many others. Today, it stands as the largest chain of private museums globally.
